Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the website remember information about your visit โ such as whether you are logged in โ and can help us understand how people use the service so we can improve it.
| Cookie name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| session_token | Keeps you logged in to your Aubrey Research account | Until you log out or after 30 days of inactivity |
| _vercel_no_cache | Technical cookie used by our hosting provider to manage content delivery | Session |
| analytics_consent | Remembers your cookie preference | 12 months |
| sb-auth-token | Supabase authentication token that manages your session securely | Until you log out |
| aw_awc | Records which affiliate partner referred you, so they are credited if you buy | 30 days |
| aw_awpid | The affiliate partner's identifier, used with the cookie above | 30 days |
| aw_click_time | When you arrived from that partner, so the credit period can be measured | 30 days |
Some of the services we use may set their own cookies. These include:
Affiliate partners (Awin). We run an affiliate programme through Awin. If you arrive from a partner\u2019s link, Awin\u2019s tracking script runs on our pages so the partner is credited when you buy. It sets cookies of its own, both on aubreyresearch.com and on domains belonging to Awin and its tracking partners:
Analytics and measurement. We load Google Tag Manager, which in turn loads Google Analytics, the Meta (Facebook) pixel and Microsoft Clarity. Between them these set _fbp (aubreyresearch.com, about 3 months) and further cookies and local storage used to measure how the site is used and how well our advertising works.
Your choice controls all of this. If you are in the UK or the EEA, none of the cookies in this section are set and none of these scripts are loaded until you choose Accept: on your first visit the site runs with essential cookies only. Everywhere else they are on by default and are switched off if you choose Essential only. You can change your mind at any time through the cookie settings link in the footer, and the change takes effect immediately. Where Awin is concerned we pass your choice to them directly, so they are told whether they have consent rather than assuming it.
Essential cookies are always set, because the site cannot work without them: keeping you signed in, remembering whether you are shopping in pounds or dollars, carrying your basket through checkout and payment, and protecting against fraud and abuse.
These are advertising and attribution cookies, and some of them are third-party cookies that can recognise your browser on other sites that use the same partners. They exist so that a publisher who introduced you to us is paid, not to build a profile of you for advertising, and we do not sell or share cookie data with anyone for their own marketing.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Note that blocking essential cookies โ such as the session token โ will prevent you from logging in to your account.
You can also update your cookie preferences at any time by clicking the cookie settings link in the footer of any page.
