Battle of the Embarras River was a Early Republic and War of 1812 engagement fought in Illinois, 1786.
In the early stages of the Northwest Indian War, which ran from 1786 to 1795, repeated clashes broke out around Vincennes during 1786, pitting American settlers against the Native peoples who lived near this frontier outpost on the Wabash River.
