Biography

Anne McCaffrey was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1926 and worked as a science fiction writer, novelist, and children's writer. She was the first woman to win a Hugo Award for fiction and the first to win a Nebula Award. Her 1978 novel The White Dragon appeared on the New York Times Best Seller list. She died in 2011.
