Biography

Anne Sullivan was born in Feeding Hills, Massachusetts, in 1866 and worked as a teacher. At age five, she contracted trachoma, which left her partially blind and without reading or writing skills. She attended the Perkins School for the Blind, and shortly after graduating at age twenty, she became a teacher to Helen Keller. Sullivan died in 1936.
