Elizabeth Coleman, born in Atlanta, Texas in 1892, became a pilot and stunt pilot. She was the first African-American woman and first Native American to hold a pilot license, earning her international certification from the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale on June 15, 1921. She was the earliest known Black person to earn an international pilot's license. She died on April 30, 1926.
