He recorded songs including "Rock Around the Clock," "See You Later, Alligator," and "Shake, Rattle and Roll" with his group Bill Haley & His Comets, and sold over 60 million records worldwide. He died on February 9, 1981, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.
