Biography

Braxton Bragg was born in Warrenton, North Carolina in 1817 and died in 1876. He served as a military officer in the Second Seminole War and Mexican–American War, and later as a Confederate general during the American Civil War, where he saw action in the Western Theater. From June 1862 to December 1863, he commanded the Army of Mississippi, which was later renamed the Army of Tennessee.
