Brook Benton was born Benjamin Franklin Peay in Lugoff, South Carolina, on September 19, 1931. He worked as a recording artist, singer, and songwriter, producing music across rock and roll, rhythm and blues, and pop during the 1950s and 1960s. His recordings included "It's Just a Matter of Time" and "Endlessly." He died on April 9, 1988.
