Biography
Carolyn Jones was born in Amarillo, Texas in 1930 and worked as a film, television, and voice actor. She began her film career in the early 1950s and received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress in 1958 for The Bachelor Party, along with a Golden Globe Award for New Star of the Year–Actress for Marjorie Morningstar and a Laurel Award for Top Supporting Female Performance that same year. In 1964 she began playing Morticia Addams in the television sitcom The Addams Family, and her film work continued for another 20 years. She died in 1983.
