Biography

Della Reese was born on July 6, 1931, in Black Bottom, Michigan. A singer and actress, she recorded blues, gospel, jazz and pop music, with several singles reaching the US Hot 100 chart, including "Don't You Know?" which peaked at number two in 1959. She became the first black woman to host her own talk show and starred in the CBS television series Touched by an Angel. She died on November 19, 2017.
