Biography
Florence Ballard was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 30, 1943, and worked as a singer. She was a founding member of the Supremes, a Motown vocal group, and sang on 16 top 40 singles with them, nine of which reached number one. After her removal from the Supremes in 1967, she pursued a solo career with ABC Records that did not succeed, and the label dropped her by the end of the decade. She died of a heart attack in February 1976 at age 32.
