Leo Anthony Gallagher Jr., born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1946, was a comedian and actor who performed a prop-based and observational style of comedy. He became recognizable during the 1980s for a signature routine featuring the "Sledge-O-Matic", a mallet-like tool used to smash items including watermelons. Over more than 30 years, he performed between 100 and 200 shows annually. He died in 2022.
