Biography

Hal Greer was born in Huntington, West Virginia in 1936 and played as a guard in the National Basketball Association from 1958 to 1973, first for the Syracuse Nationals and then for the Philadelphia 76ers. He was selected as an NBA All-Star ten times and named to the All-NBA Second Team on seven occasions. The Philadelphia 76ers retired his uniform number, and he was named to both the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History and the NBA 75th Anniversary Team. Greer was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.
