James Earl Jones was born in Arkabutla, Mississippi in 1931 and worked as a stage, film, television, and voice actor until his death in 2024. He achieved EGOT status and received the Academy Honorary Award in 2011, the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award in 2009, the Kennedy Center Honor in 2002, the National Medal of Arts in 1992, and induction into the American Theater Hall of Fame in 1985.
