John Martin Feeney, known as John Ford, was born in Cape Elizabeth, Maine in 1894. He worked as a film director and producer, directing more than 130 films between 1917 and 1970. Ford received four Academy Awards for Best Director for The Informer, The Grapes of Wrath, How Green Was My Valley, and The Quiet Man. He died in 1973.
