John Hughes was born in Lansing, Michigan in 1950 and worked as a filmmaker, screenwriter, actor, producer, and director. He wrote, directed, and produced Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, Weird Science, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, and Uncle Buck. He also wrote Pretty in Pink, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Home Alone, 101 Dalmatians, and Flubber. He died on August 6, 2009.
