Biography
Julie Harris was born in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, in 1925 and worked as a stage, television, and film actor. She won five Tony Awards for Best Lead Actress in a Play, three Primetime Emmy Awards, and a Grammy Award, and received nominations for an Academy Award and a BAFTA Award. Harris was inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame in 1979, received the National Medal of Arts in 1994, the Special Lifetime Achievement Tony Award in 2002, and the Kennedy Center Honor in 2005. She died in 2013.
