Biography
Olympia Dukakis was born in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1931 and died in 2021. She worked as an actress across stage, film, and television, appearing in more than 130 stage productions, approximately 60 films, and around 50 television series. After moving to New York City, she won an Obie Award for Best Actress in 1963 for her off-Broadway performance in Bertolt Brecht's Man Equals Man. She also worked as a director and pedagogue.
