Biography
Patrick Joseph Kennedy was born in Boston in 1858 and worked as a businessman and politician. He was involved in Democratic Party politics and held positions in local and state government. Through his son Joseph P. Kennedy Sr.'s marriage to Rose Fitzgerald, the daughter of politician John F. Fitzgerald, Kennedy became the paternal grandfather of John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, and Ted Kennedy. He died in 1929.
