Paul Revere was born in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1735 and worked as a silversmith and entrepreneur. During the opening months of the American Revolutionary War, he undertook a midnight ride in 1775 to alert minutemen of approaching British troops before the battles of Lexington and Concord. He also served as a military officer. Revere died in 1818.
