Biography

Phil Hill was born in Miami, Florida in 1927 and died in 2008. An American racing driver, he competed in Formula One between 1958 and 1966, winning the World Drivers' Championship in 1961 while driving for Ferrari and taking three Grand Prix victories. In endurance racing, Hill won the 24 Hours of Le Mans three times and the 12 Hours of Sebring three times, both achievements with Ferrari, and in 1964 won the 24 Hours of Daytona with NART, making him the first driver to complete the Triple Crown of endurance racing.
