Rip Torn was born in Temple, Texas in 1931 and died in 2019. His acting career lasted approximately 60 years across film, television, and stage. He received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Cross Creek (1983), and his portrayal of Artie on The Larry Sanders Show earned six Emmy nominations, with a win in 1996. His film roles included Judas Iscariot in King of Kings (1961), a character in Sweet Bird of Youth (1962), Dr. Nathan Bryce in The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976), and Zed in the Men in Black franchise, among many others.
