Sandy Dennis was born on April 27, 1937, in Hastings, Nebraska. She worked as a film, television, and stage actor. Her film career began with a role in the 1961 drama Splendor in the Grass. She won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (1966). She died on March 2, 1992.
