Biography
Seymour Cassel was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1935 and died in 2019. He worked as a film and television actor across a career spanning over fifty years, appearing in more than two hundred films and television shows. He first gained prominence in the 1960s through films by writer and director John Cassavetes, beginning with Too Late Blues in 1961 and continuing with Faces in 1968, for which he received an Academy Award nomination and won a National Society of Film Critics Award. He later appeared in four additional Cassavetes films: Minnie and Moskowitz, The Killing of a Chinese Bookie, Opening Night, and Love Streams.
