Frederick Bean "Tex" Avery was born in Taylor, Texas, in 1908 and worked as an animator, film director, and voice actor. He directed and produced animated cartoons for Leon Schlesinger Productions and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's cartoon department, where he worked on characters including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, and Elmer Fudd for Warner Bros., as well as Droopy, Screwy Squirrel, and Red Hot Riding Hood for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. He died in 1980.
