Tom Robbins was born in Blowing Rock, North Carolina in 1932 and died in 2025. An American novelist, journalist, and writer, he authored works often classified as seriocomedies, including his 1976 novel Even Cowgirls Get the Blues, which was adapted into a 1993 film directed by Gus Van Sant. From 1970 onward, Robbins lived in La Conner, Washington, where he wrote nine of his books. His final publication, Tibetan Peach Pie, appeared in 2014 as what he called an "un-memoir."
