Abbotsbury Castle is a hillfort located near the village of Abbotsbury in Dorset. The monument dates to the Iron Age and comprises a roughly circular enclosure defined by a substantial bank and ditch system, positioned on elevated ground that commands views across the surrounding landscape. The site represents a typical example of Dorset's numerous Iron Age hillforts, which served defensive and settlement functions during the pre-Roman period. The earthwork remains are substantially preserved and constitute an important archaeological record of Iron Age settlement patterns in southwest England.
