These terms govern your use of aubreyresearch.com and the Aubrey Research report service, operated by Aubrey Research Co. By creating an account or purchasing a report, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Aubrey Research creates bespoke historical research reports for any location in Great Britain. Each report is generated specifically for your chosen location and search parameters — it is not a generic search result or a data extract.
Aubrey draws on a wide range of national archaeological, historical, geological and cartographic records, combines them with AI-driven research and analysis, and produces an original written report tailored to your location and your research interests. The depth of research, the cross-referencing of sources, and the written interpretation are the product of Aubrey's research engine — not simply a reproduction of publicly available data.
Every report is generated at the time of your search. The underlying records we draw on are maintained by third parties and reflect the data available at the time of generation. While we make every effort to ensure reports are accurate and comprehensive, Aubrey Research reports are provided for research and information purposes. They should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional archaeological survey, legal advice, or formal heritage assessment.
Your account is personal to you and may not be shared with or transferred to another person. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
Reports are priced as shown on our pricing page at the time of purchase. All prices include VAT where applicable. Payment is processed securely by Stripe. You will receive a confirmation email when your purchase is complete.
If Aubrey is unable to generate a report containing at least three sections with substantive content for your chosen location, we will automatically identify this before your report is delivered and issue a full refund to your original payment method within 5 business days. In this circumstance you will be notified by email and no report will be saved to your account.
We do not offer refunds on the basis of personal dissatisfaction with the historical record. The content of every report accurately reflects the national records that exist for your location — Aubrey cannot create history that has not been documented. If you believe there is a factual error in your report, or that records relevant to your location have been missed, contact us at hello@aubreyresearch.com within 14 days of purchase and we will investigate.
We do not offer refunds for reports that have been successfully generated and delivered where the content meets our minimum threshold.
The Explorer plan gives you 6 reports to use whenever you want — credits do not expire while your account is active. The Unlimited plan is a one-time annual purchase that grants unlimited reports for 12 months from the date of purchase; it does not renew automatically, and at the end of the 12-month period you will need to purchase again if you wish to continue. We do not offer partial refunds for unused credits or unused portions of a plan period.
Report credits purchased as part of a subscription or separately do not expire while your account is active. Credits are non-transferable and have no cash value.
The Aubrey Research website, brand, software and report format are the intellectual property of Aubrey Research Co. The underlying data in your report is drawn from publicly available national databases. You may use your report for personal research purposes. You may not resell, republish or redistribute report content without our written permission.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Aubrey Research Co shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you in connection with any report shall not exceed the amount you paid for that report.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
