The site comprises a substantial enclosure constructed from local agglomerate stone, within or adjacent to which ten circular stone-built structures are arranged, representing domestic dwellings typical of prehistoric moorland settlement patterns. The hut circles, built from dry stone, show evidence of the construction techniques employed by Bronze Age and early Iron Age communities for permanent or semi-permanent occupation.
