Aghagaskin fort is a counterscarp rath situated near Magherafelt in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. This early Christian earthwork comprises a univallate enclosure with a distinctive outer bank and ditch arrangement characteristic of raths of the early medieval period. The site's counterscarp construction, wherein a defensive bank is placed beyond the outer ditch, suggests a fortified settlement of the Early Christian era, likely dating between the fifth and twelfth centuries. Such raths served as the domestic and defensive centres of Gaelic aristocratic families and their dependents during the early medieval period in Ireland.
