Ardanstur Dun is an Iron Age defensive settlement located in Argyllshire, Scotland, situated approximately 150 metres west-north-west of Ardanstur. The monument comprises a dun, a characteristically Scottish Iron Age fortified dwelling type consisting of a stone-built circular or oval structure with thick walls, which served as both residence and refuge for its inhabitants during the Iron Age period. Such duns are thought to have been occupied by families or small communities of higher social status, functioning as fortified homesteads within the wider settlement hierarchy of Iron Age Scotland. The site, registered under Historic Environment Scotland INSPIRE designation SM3796, remains an important archaeological record of the defensive architecture and social organisation of Iron Age Argyllshire.
