Ardtornish Castle is a medieval fortification situated on the Ardtornish peninsula in Argyllshire, overlooking the Sound of Mull. The castle dates from the medieval period and served as an important stronghold associated with the MacDonald Lords of the Isles, who wielded considerable power in the western Highlands and Isles during the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries.
