Arkendeith Tower is a sixteenth-century fortified tower house located in Ross-shire in the Scottish Highlands. The structure represents the domestic and defensive architecture characteristic of the early modern period in northern Scotland, when such towers served as strongholds for local landholding families. Built from stone, the tower exemplifies the vertical, compact design typical of Scottish tower houses of its era, combining residential accommodation with defensive capability. The monument survives as evidence of the settlement patterns and territorial control exercised by the gentry class during the sixteenth century in the far north of Scotland.
