Axholme Carthusian Priory is a Carthusian monastery founded in the late fourteenth century on the Isle of Axholme in Lincolnshire. The priory was dissolved in 1539 during Henry VIII's Dissolution of the Monasteries. Archaeological earthworks visible in Melwood Park preserve evidence of the priory's layout and of post-Dissolution garden features, demonstrating the site's continued use and modification after the monastic community's dispersal. The surviving remains reflect the physical footprint of one of England's comparatively rare Carthusian foundations and the adaptation of the landscape in the centuries following the Reformation.
