Ballywilline Dun is an Iron Age fortified settlement located approximately 550 metres north-east of Ballywilline in Argyllshire, Scotland. The site represents a typical example of the dun form of defensive residence characteristic of Iron Age Scotland, constructed as a small, strongly fortified stone tower or enclosure designed to serve both domestic and defensive purposes. Duns of this period and region were commonly occupied by elite households and served as focal points for local communities, reflecting the social hierarchies and territorial organisation of Iron Age Celtic society in western Scotland.
