Balvattan is a post-medieval settlement and field system located in Rothiemurchus, Inverness-shire, Scotland. The site comprises the remains of a rural settlement with associated agricultural land divisions typical of early modern highland tenure patterns. The field systems and settlement layout reflect the pastoral and arable economy of the post-medieval period in the Scottish Highlands, when such communities formed the basis of local agricultural production and land management.
