Bocking windmill is a post mill located in Bocking, Essex, dating from the early eighteenth century. The structure represents a typical example of post mill construction, a form of windmill where the entire wooden superstructure rotates on a single timber post to allow the sails to face the wind. The mill served the local grain milling industry, which was essential to the agricultural economy of Essex during this period.
