Bryland Fort is an Iron Age hilltop fort located approximately 640 metres south-east of Bryland in Peeblesshire, Scottish Borders. The fort is defined by a univallate defensive circuit, comprising a single rampart with associated ditch, a characteristic design of Iron Age fortifications in the Borders region dating to the later prehistoric period. The site occupies a naturally defensive elevated position typical of Iron Age forts in southern Scotland, which served both defensive and settlement functions within their local territories. Though detailed archaeological investigation of the site remains limited, its classification and morphology place it within the broader tradition of Iron Age hill forts that characterise the archaeological landscape of the Tweed valley and surrounding uplands during the pre-Roman Iron Age.
