Burnside Broch is an Iron Age defensive structure located in Caithness, in the far north of Scotland. The broch dates to the later prehistoric period, likely constructed sometime between the 1st century BC and the 1st century AD, representing the characteristic architectural tradition of broch-building that flourished in northern Scotland during this era. As a broch, the monument would originally have comprised a hollow-walled circular stone tower, a distinctive form of Iron Age fortified residence of which Caithness contains numerous examples. The site lies approximately 365 metres north-east of the settlement of Burnside and is recorded within Historic Environment Scotland's database as an important element of the Iron Age settlement pattern in the region.
