Burray Ness anti-aircraft battery is a First World War defensive installation located on the island of Burray in Orkney, Scotland. Constructed during the Great War, the battery formed part of the air defence measures protecting the strategically important naval anchorage at Scapa Flow and the surrounding islands from enemy aircraft attack. The site comprises the remains of gun emplacements and associated military structures typical of early twentieth-century anti-aircraft fortifications. This installation represents the adaptation of Orkney's defences to the emerging threat of aerial warfare during the 1914–1918 conflict.
