Burrian is a broch situated on the western shore of the Loch of Harray in Orkney, Scotland. The monument dates to the Iron Age and represents one of the characteristic stone tower structures that were built across northern Scotland during the first few centuries BC and AD. Like other brochs of its region, Burrian would have functioned as a defensive stronghold or prestigious residence for a local community, its distinctive hollow-walled circular design providing both structural strength and an imposing presence in the Orkney landscape.
