Bushmead Priory is an Augustinian priory situated north east of Bushmead Cross in Bedfordshire. Founded in the thirteenth century, it was established as a house of Augustinian canons and represents an important example of religious architecture from the medieval period. The surviving remains include the priory church, which displays Early English architectural features and contains notable wall paintings of considerable artistic merit. The site was dissolved during the Reformation in the sixteenth century, and the surviving structures remain as evidence of its former significance as a centre of religious life in medieval Bedfordshire.
