The Cairn on Bamford Edge is a Bronze Age burial monument located on moorland in the High Peak area of Derbyshire, approximately 500 metres north-east of Mooredge. It comprises a stone cairn of typical Bronze Age construction, consisting of a mound of stones that would have contained an inhumation or cremation burial within a central cist or burial chamber. Such monuments are characteristic of burial practices across the upland regions of the Peak District during the Bronze Age period, roughly 2200 to 700 BC. The site remains of archaeological importance as evidence of prehistoric settlement and funerary practices on the Derbyshire moorlands.
