Cairnfield is a Neolithic and Bronze Age ceremonial and funerary complex located on Burnmoor in Cumberland, England. The monument comprises five stone circles, ten funerary cairns, a prehistoric enclosure, six stone banks, two stone walls, a lynchet and an associated trackway, representing one of the most substantial concentrations of ritual and burial monuments in the region. Dating primarily to the Bronze Age, with possible earlier Neolithic elements, the site demonstrates the sustained ceremonial use of this upland location across a considerable span of prehistory. The physical preservation and variety of monument types at Cairnfield provide significant evidence for understanding prehistoric settlement patterns, ritual practice and land use in the Lake District uplands.
