Caisteal na Coille is a broch situated on the eastern bank of the River Blackwater in Sutherland, Scotland. Constructed during the Iron Age, this monument represents the distinctive architectural tradition of Atlantic brochs that flourished in northern Britain between approximately the 1st century BCE and 1st century CE. The broch's form, characterized by its hollow-walled circular stone tower, reflects the sophisticated defensive and domestic engineering of Iron Age societies in Scotland. Though now substantially ruined, the remains preserve evidence of the settlement patterns and building practices that defined this period in the far north of Scotland.
