Campsey Priory is a site of a Benedictine nunnery founded in the twelfth century in Suffolk, located near Wickham Market. The priory was established as a daughter house and developed into a significant religious community during the medieval period, becoming one of the more important convents in East Anglia. The site preserves earthwork remains and fragmentary structures that reflect the layout and extent of the monastic complex, including evidence of the church, cloister, and associated buildings. Following the Dissolution of the Monasteries in the sixteenth century, the priory fell into decay, and the site was subsequently developed for agricultural use, though archaeological remains continue to survive as an ancient monument.
