Canonsleigh Abbey is a medieval abbey located near Burlescombe in Devon, founded in the twelfth century as a house of Augustinian canons regular. The abbey occupied a substantial estate in the fertile valley of the River Culm and maintained significant landholdings throughout the medieval period until its dissolution during the Reformation. The surviving remains include fragmentary stone structures of the claustral buildings, notably parts of the cloister range and associated domestic quarters, which testify to the site's former architectural significance. The abbey grounds and surviving masonry are now protected as a scheduled monument and remain an important site for understanding the extent and character of religious communities in medieval Devon.
