Castle Point is a promontory fort situated approximately 250 metres north-north-east of Westerwards Croft in Banffshire, Scotland. The site occupies a naturally defensible headland position and dates to the Iron Age, when such promontory forts served as strongholds for local communities across northern Britain. The fort's defensive character would have been enhanced by its coastal location, which provided natural protection on one or more sides whilst allowing control of important maritime and terrestrial routes. Like other promontory forts of its period, Castle Point represents a significant settlement type characteristic of Iron Age settlement patterns in northern Scotland.
