Chain Home Low Radar Station, Margam is a Second World War radar installation located near Port Talbot in Glamorgan, Wales. It formed part of the extensive Chain Home Low network developed by the British armed forces from 1940 onwards to provide low-level air defence coverage against enemy aircraft approaching at altitude below the range of conventional Chain Home radar stations. The station exemplifies the technological and strategic response to the German air threat during the latter phases of the war, contributing to British air defence capability during the Battle of Britain and subsequent years of conflict. The surviving structural remains at Margam preserve evidence of this critical period of technological innovation in military radar development.
