The Chalk military badges on Fovant Down is a collection of regimental emblems cut into the chalk hillside near the village of Fovant in Wiltshire. These distinctive figures were created during the First World War by soldiers stationed at the nearby camp, with the badges representing various military units that trained or were billeted in the area between 1916 and 1918. The badges were cut into the turf and underlying chalk to considerable depth, rendering them visible from considerable distances across the downland landscape. Though some have been lost or severely weathered over the decades, several remain traceable, constituting a distinctive archaeological and cultural record of the First World War presence in this part of Wiltshire.
